Hi there! My name is Hannah McKinney!

I'm a Texas-based photographer, full-time student at Texas A&M University, and the heart behind HCM Photos.

Photography has always been personal for me. I grew up watching my dad document our family’s story — from big adventures to quiet, everyday moments. I remember constantly reaching for his camera, trying to freeze the same kind of memories that meant so much to me. That passion grew quickly, and by high school, I launched HCM Photos at just 15 years old.

But I didn’t just fall in love with the camera — I fell in love with what it represents. There is nothing I care about more in this business than capturing people the way I’d want to be captured in the milestones of my own life. Whether it’s the joy of an engagement, the stillness of a senior sunset shoot, or the sacredness of a wedding day, I strive to preserve the emotion, the energy, and the in-between moments that make your story yours. I’ve fallen in love with every part of the process — especially the art of capturing things authentically and candidly. I’m a huge believer that real emotion is the most beautiful thing you can photograph. I’m also obsessed with all things light and color — finding ways to use natural tones, golden hour sun, and vibrant surroundings to elevate the mood and emotion of every image I create. Lighting isn’t just technical for me — it’s emotional, and I use it intentionally to help tell your story.

My heart for service drives everything I do. I believe every client deserves to be known, celebrated, and seen in a way that’s genuine and true. That’s why I pour so deeply into the experience I give — because your story matters, and I consider it an honor to help tell it through intentional, timeless imagery.
